When you take a lesson from me, my goal is to make sure you truly improve.  To do that, you need to understand a little about how to apply the tool you are using to the object you are striking.

I find 99.9% of my students have an unconscious plan when they attempt to send a ball towards their target.  Their intention, whether conscious or unconscious is usually wrong or inefficient.   Most golfers don't understand how the golf club actually influences the golf ball.  Because of that, they apply the club incorrectly on the ball resulting in a less than optimal result.

As an instructor, my goal is to create the correct perception in the mind of my students.  This is the key to lasting improvement.  Mis-perception is the root cause of most struggling golfer's problems.  Consider, the golf club was originally designed to extricate a ball from ground that was not manicured. Realize, the applying the club head is difficult understand.  A struggling golfer's perception is to apply it to the ball as you might a tennis raquet, or baseball bat, or other similar object.

- The club head is designed to make the ball go up and left more than you percieve.
- Most high handicappers hit the back of the ball, or the ground behind the ball - WHY?
- Many other teachers diagnose common swing flaws and work on fixing the effects of the problem rather than the cause of the problem.

I work on the cause of the problem.  The main cause of the problem is what you percieve when you look at a golf ball with a golf club in your hand and your reaction to sending the ball up and out to your target.

To improve your game for life, you must do what you can to change your perception first.  Learn how to properly apply the club to the ball.  I can show you how.  Once you know how to use the club correctly (it's fairly simple) the correct swing intention can be created.  Apply this singular plan to the swing.  Once you can do this (it take's about 10 minutes for me to show you) if needed, we work on correcting the details.

The problem with many other instructors, is they know what you are doing wrong, they just don't get at the CAUSE of the issues.  I promise you, your distance will improve immediately, and the rest of your swing will be much easier to influence/change.

It is difficult if not impossible, to make big improvements in your swing, without creating the correct swing intention.  Creating the correct perception will allow us to create a new (more correct) swing intention.

Your golf fitness has a direct effect on your ability to deliver the club to the ball correctly.  When you take a lesson from me, as a Titleist Performance Institute Certified Instructor, I will also assess your ability to move as it relates to your swing.  I am Level II certified instructor in both fitness and swing mechanics.  Together, we can work to get you moving better.

Whether you learn visually, verbally, kinesthetically, or a bit of each, we will work together to craft a plan for your improvement.  To assist in your learning, I utilize V1 Golf's camera/video system.  Most of your lessons will/can include a complete video analysis.  I also can teach with the assistance of Flight Scope launch monitor.  I find this helpful both for my indoor lessons, as well as clubfitting.  Email me today if you would like to discuss further.
